Our chapter recently lost a phenomenal artist, Kate Lagaly. Kate passed away from cancer on May 6, 2022.
Kate was an active member of CPSA, having received signature status in both of the organization’s international exhibitions, and was co-president of our chapter.
Kate lived life to the fullest. She loved being an artist and sharing her love of art. As she stated on her website:
“I absolutely love art! I have been making art since I was young. Art is woven into every part of my life and everything I do. It has been a constant companion and a driving force…I work in a variety of medium and paint or draw almost every day, teach regularly at various locations, travel some to teach workshops, enter art exhibitions and competitions, and enjoy spending time around other artists. I have earned signature membership in various art organizations and have art published in several books. Life is very good!”
Kate was a beloved friend, teacher and mentor to many artists. She will be missed by our chapter. Our sincerest condolences to Kate’s family and friends.
